ABOUT THIS MONTH’S CONCEPT:
In partnership with the Pulitzer Arts Foundation and celebrating their 25th anniversary year, October’s concept takes inspiration from Bogotá and the work of Colombian artist Olga de Amaral — exploring a shared language of weaving, layering, place and transformation.
Bogotá sits at the intersection of an extraordinarily diverse culinary landscape. Indigenous, Spanish and African influences meet the distinct foodways and ingredients of the Andes, Caribbean, Pacific and Amazon — traditions shaped by radically different climates, elevations and ecosystems, converging in one city.
A cuisine, interwoven.
Mountains become markets where the Amazon meets the Andes.
Old traditions find new forms and the landscape of culture and cuisine are woven together - many threads become one.
An exploration of the convergence of distinct materials, landscapes, traditions and ideas together — not to disappear into one another, but to create something new.
The evening begins with a brief tour of Olga de Amaral: Weaving the Infinite at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation before moving into Spring Church for dinner.
